Just a few pictures of my sweet boys.

Okay... I went a little overboard. But I can't help myself.... :)

This Season

We have had an unseasonably rainy summer so far.
I have enjoyed it very much.
I do not like hot summers, and I love rain when I am home.

It's got me to thinking a lot about this season of my life.
This season with my children seems to be passing much too quickly.
In just 2 weeks I will have a 3 month old and a 23 month old.
Robert will be 2 years old next month.. just thinking about it makes me cry.
He's such a wonderful boy.
He's a great listener and is really good at following directions (when he wants to of course).
Robert is always helping me with his baby brother. He brings him blankets and pacifiers.
He is so POLITE, he says Thank You to everything! We're working on bring "Please" back... but Thank you works just fine for me!
He is still wanting to cuddle with his mommy, and to me that is just perfect :)
He gets out of his bed early in the morning and comes crawling in the bed to sleep by me. He always wants me to have my arm around him and he holds my hand.
He was holding his Ge-Ge's hand today in Worship.
He always grabs my hand to pray.
He loves to sing.
Right now his favorite nighttime song is "Pierce my ear, oh Lord".. He sings it with us, and I wouldn't give anything for hearing the sound of his sweet voice harmonizing with ours. I believe he's going to grow up and be a great singer!
He is really starting to enjoy Family Bible Devo time.
After we read accounts in the Bible, we explain what it is we read and he repeats (with his use of words) back to us.
He is now staying in his big boy bed at nap time and bed time. (Yes, we've had to spank him... but he's learning.)
His vocabulary is expanding daily.
He loves books and cars.
He has recently started to take an interest in coloring.
He is just so much fun.
He still loves to entertain and make us laugh.
I love him very much!

Paul is developing very quickly.
He smiles every time you talk to him.
He talks to you trying to repeat what you say.
He is such a happy and content baby.
He's been sleeping through the night since he was 7 weeks old.
He already weighs 10 lbs and 2 oz.
He's so smart and sweet.
I'm looking forward to watching him grow and seeing his personality shine through even more.
But, I'm okay with it happening very slowly!!

Speaking of this season....
Right now, we're in a scary state.
We found out last Monday on July 29th, 2013 that my Mama has cancer.
It's hard to put that sentence together. Cancer is such a scary word. The doctor believes it's the early stages and that they will be able to successfully treat it with surgery. She has her first doctor appointment with her gynecological oncologist this Thursday. We won't know until after her surgery if the cancer has spread, or just how bad it is. The waiting in this part is the scariest right now. I love my Mama more than I can put into words. She is my very best friend. She always has been. I just love her so much. I am praying fervently that this doctor is right and that they're going to get everything with one surgery and she's going to be fine! I need my mama.

As of now, I have been Thriving for a little over a month and as of 2 weeks ago I had lost 21 pounds. I want to lose a good deal of weight before we try to have anymore children. I'm already feeling 100% better! Eating better really does impact how I feel everyday. I can't wait to finally feel good about how I look.... if that day ever comes. I can also be confident about what I am feeding my family now, because they are eating healthy as well. Hubby's clothes are fitting much better and I hope I am instilling healthy eating habits in my children so that they won't have to deal with being overweight as I have.

Things are just really all over the place and we have a busy few months ahead of us!
I'm looking forward to what God has in store for our family and I hope my mama is going to be better than ever after her surgery!

(I want to blog more. I think of ideas for blogs all the time, but every time that I read what I have written, it sounds a little silly. I am not a good writer. But I want to have this part of my life documented for when things change. Because they are changing daily.)

Praying for God's guidance to do what is best for my family!

Two Months.

I just don't understand how time seems to keep speeding up.
Time was already flying fast enough.... why must it only go by more quickly?
(Spoiler alert: This blog post will contain LOTS of pictures)
It has been two months since the first time I held this sweet baby boy in my arms.
I have always loved his faces that he makes.

Seriously, this baby is so beautiful, I can't stand it.

I am in love with his little feet.
He always makes me yawn :)

I can't believe how much he has changed in just two short months.

Paul is such a sweet baby. He loves to smile and talk. We love to listen to him.
He's been trying to crawl since he was less than a week old... I believe he will be a little boy that will grow up way too fast for this Mama's liking.
He loves his swing, and to be held in his Daddy's arms.
He's been sleeping through the night for a little over a week now.
He absolutely loves when Robert holds him and talks to him.
I love snuggling with this little boy. He's a sweetheart!

I wanted to get some good pictures today, for his 2 month pictures....
But my D80 charger is MIA. So, I worked with what I had....
While I was taking his pictures, Robert just had to get in on the action....

Then he wanted a picture with Mommy.

I love my boys so much.
The Lord has blessed me in so many ways, and they are two wonderful blessings. I could never have imagined the amount of joy they bring into my life.
I am blessed to be able to be their mother.

I also wanted to share my play area I finally finished setting up for Robert and Paul.
It's not COMPLETELY finished. I want to make some art work for the wall where there is a newborn picture of Robert....
But I'm sure that will come in time...

Right now, it's the perfect place for Robert to play with his toys.
He's even learned where to put everything back when he's finished playing!

I'm sure it won't stay this clean once he figures out how fun it is to spread the toys around the room... It brings me joy to have children to clean up after, so I have NO complaints :)

In my shoes.

A few weeks ago we attended the area-wide singing at the Lithia Springs Church of Christ.
I was enjoying the beautiful singing so much, and my eyes were opened by a song we haven't heard in quite a while.
I can't remember all the words, but I know what stuck with me.

"Each step I take, I know that he will guide me...."

I thought about who is guiding my footsteps.
If I am truly letting the Lord guide my steps.. what does it mean?

"And whatever you do, in word or deed, do everything in the name of the Lord Jesus, giving thanks to God the Father through him." -Colossians 3:17

Is everything I do pleasing to the Lord?

"Whatever you do, work heartily, as for the Lord and not for men,  knowing that from the Lord you will receive the inheritance as your reward. You are serving the Lord Christ." -Colossians 3:23-24

Working for the Lord. It makes even the most simple tasks, as doing the dishes and changing dirty diapers that much easier. It helps my attitude in my daily "to-do list".

I must first read God's word to know what steps he would have me to take.

"Study to show thyself approved unto God, a workman who needeth not to be ashamed, rightly dividing the word of truth." -2 Timothy 2:15

I thought about my little Robert.
Robert imitates EVERYTHING we do. He's always trying to put his Daddy's belt, shoes, hats, clothes, whatever he can find on himself. He repeats everything his father does.
He literally follows him step by step around the house.
If I want Robert to follow in the steps of Christ, I must first myself follow in his steps.
Paul, at one day shy of two months old, is already trying to imitate his older brother.
His older brother needs to be a good example for him so that he will live his life right too.

And where is his older brother learning how to live??
I've got to get things straight and teach my Children how to live their lives by living it.. not just teaching it.

I hope and pray that the Lord will guide my steps in how to raise my Children to be workers in his Kingdom.

As it is now.

As most of you (all of you) know, we've had a pretty big change here at the Stubblefield house.

Our sweet baby boy Paul Blakely Stubblefield was born May 17th, 2013.
He was born at 8:38 AM.
He weighed 8lbs 6oz and was 20 inches long.

We love him so much.
He's beginning to fit right into this family just fine.

Things are definitely different, but they are definitely more fun!!

I had all these warnings from people before Paul was born to make sure that we don't leave Robert out, and that we treat the boys equally.
I have to say that since Paul was born, it's like I love Robert even more (which I didn't think was possible.)

I had spent the last few months before Paul was born everyday just playing with Robert. We cuddled and read books, played with his toys, and did special things because it wasn't going to be long before he had a little brother and we couldn't give him all the attention.
I appreciate and cherish those days. I love my sweet boy Robert.
He's gotten so big... and helps us so much.
I love my boys. All three of them.
My husband has always been such a help to me. He's always gone above and beyond to do things that aren't in his job description as husband/father to help me and to help our children.
I wouldn't have made it these last 11 days without him.
He has taken complete care of me and my boys.
He's fixed us meals, washed our clothes, cleaned the house, cared for Robert, and changed one too many stinky diapers! I have no idea what I'm going to do when he goes back to work Friday!
He's the most amazing man ever and I love him now more than I ever realized was possible.
I am blessed to have him as a husband, and my children are blessed to have him as a father.

Hopefully in the next few weeks I will be feeling better from having surgery, can stop having crying spells all the time, and things will get a little more back to "normal". Although, I have no idea what that is now.
I'm just ready to be able to cook food for my family and pick up my toddler whenever I want.

I thank the Lord everyday for my family and especially for the new sweet addition to our family.
He's calling for food now, so I'm off. But, I just wanted to share a little for now :)

2 Weeks.

Have you ever thought about how quickly two weeks can pass by?

I had my OB appointment this morning. We were talking about the size of the baby and how things were going.
Without going into details, we pretty much can count on having a baby by the 21st of May....
That's 2 weeks away.
I've been starting to get a little nervous.
Two weeks ago seems like just yesterday.
I know these days pass by so quickly now, but I can only imagine how quickly these two weeks will pass.
I'm so excited to meet baby Paul.
I'm also very nervous.
Two babies under the age of 2.
We are so blessed and I am so thankful to the Lord for blessing us with children.
I hope to be the Christian Mother that my boys need.
I hope one day to give them both back to the Lord.

I guess I need to get busy on some of my last minute projects for the baby.
I can't wait!!! :)

I can't believe this was my baby boy 19 months ago!!!
